The Starke County Sheriff’s Office is making area residents aware of another attempted scam.
The Sheriff's Office has received multiple phone calls regarding an individual identifying himself as a Starke County deputy. This individual has informed potential victims that they have missed a court date. This individual has called employers of individuals on the sex offender registry identifying himself as a Starke County deputy.
This individual has also informed residents that they have warrants for their arrest.
The Sheriff's Office notes that 574-359-7344, is not a phone number belonging to their office or deputies. Also, their office will not contact people to inform of a missed court date.
People are encouraged to protect their personal information. Local law enforcement will not solicit you for credit card information or other payment information.
