Work to clean and maintain the water tower for the city of St. Francisville is expected to get underway in the spring.
The City Council met Wednesday and approved the lowest of three bids received for the work from Neumann Company for just over $424,000. The rehabilitation project includes cleaning both the inside and outside of the structure. The move was made after the bids were taken under advisement for further study and review by the council in December.
They also approved the purchase of a 2025 F-350 pickup truck and bed for approximately $54,000 for use by city employees.
It was announced that UTV stickers are in to the city and are now available for purchase by city residents for $20. The stickers can be picked up at the City Hall during regular business hours and at the Peoples State Bank location in St. Francisville.
Two new master meters needed for the city's water system were also approved for purchase at a cost of $7,500.
The council voted unanimously to promote Kaley Morris to full-time employee, effective immediately.
