The Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshalls Office has announced the recipients of the 2024 Small Equipment Grant Program. A total of $4 million was awarded to 165 fire departments/districts and EMS providers across the state. The purpose of the program is to allow applicants the opportunity to purchase small equipment that they may otherwise not be able to buy. There were 417 grant applications received. Two Lawrence County fire departments were named as grantees. The Christy Fire Protection District will get $19,850 for its use and the Bridgeport Fire Protection District will get $26,000 for its use.
