Shelby County EMA Director Denis Ratekin reports that due to many roadway with standing and/or rushing flood water on them, the Shelby County Board of Commissioners has placed Shelby County in a TRAVEL ADVISORY for all of Shelby County.
As many as 16 county roads had experienced closures due to high eater as of daylight Saturday.
A TRAVEL ADVISORY means that routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas due to a hazardous situation, and individuals should use caution or avoid those areas.
The Shelby County Board of Commissions will continue to monitor the situation and update the travel status as needed.
