Plymouth Police, Fire and EMS were dispatched to an accident when a vehicle crashed into a building at 10:40 Wednesday morning.
Plymouth Police Chief John Weir said the driver of a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee was pulling into a parking space in from of the Goodwill Store at 1547 Pilgrim Lane and thought they were applying the brake to stop when the driver apparently hit the gas pedal and drove the vehicle through the front door area of the west end training office area.
There were approximately 8 individuals in the office when the vehicle crashed through the brick and glass window and door area. One person was transported to the hospital by Plymouth Paramedics and several others had minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
Lyons Towing was called to remove the vehicle after Ancon Construction made the scene to assess the building making sure it was safe to pull the vehicle from it.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
