The creation of a new production line for a Vincennes business is moving forward.
The City Council on Monday preliminarily approved a 5-year graduated $2 million tax abatement for Schott Industries. The action was taken after the matter was previously tabled to allow for more study and review by members.
Company officials say that the fourth new line at the facility would mean the creation of 24 new jobs in the future. The next step in the approval process is the scheduling of a public hearing for comment at a later date.
