Rockville Rotary Club hosts elementary students at Community Garden

The Rockville Rotary Club recently hosted nearly 50 second grade students from the Rockville Elementary School on a field trip to the Parke County Community Garden located along US Hwy 41 on the south edge of Rockville.

Local gardeners, Parke Heritage High School FFA members and members of the Rockville Rotary Club gave tours of the garden. The students were accompanied by their teachers Kaci Hazzard and Kiara Barker along with school counselors Genna Newnum and Kayla Hale.

Rotarian hosts teaching classes at the garden for the students included:  Dawn Newnum, Lawrence Williams, Mark Spelbring, Bev Rose, Bonnie Hobbs, Angie Lewis and gardeners Wayne and Geri Pavich.

Three Parke Heritage High School FFA members Destinee Stevenson, Julia Kelly and Kenleigh Berry taught a session on planting seeds.
