After dealing with no air conditioning and a shaky HVAC system, a solution could be coming for the Rockville-Adams Fire Department.
Chief Jim Veach approached council this week with information about a new heating and air system. Each said he received a bid from Jason Kelly at Kelly Heating and Air.
"He submitted me a bid to replace the furnace. He said he would do it all for 8,188. That includes taking everything out and him installing the new. He is giving us a deal because it's for the Fire Department," Veach said.
Councilman Parke Swaim agreed, saying replacements typically run about $12,000.
"He is locked in on the pricing. We have to figure out how to fund it because the ac doesn't work at all," Veach said.
Swaim said he imagined the funds could come from a building Rockville is set to sell soon.
"There would be sufficient funds," Swaim said before making a motion for the town to accept the bid and get the project started.
Council voted 5-0 in favor of Swaim's motion.
