July 2, 2024, just after 4:00 p.m., the Indiana State Police and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle fatal crash near 4960 North Old US 31 in Rochester.
The preliminary crash investigation conducted by Master Trooper Todd Trottier indicates that Quinton Sayger, 23, from Rochester, was driving a 1998 Buick Lesabre heading southbound on Old US 31. For an unknown reason, the Buick traveled left of center when a 2011 Dodge Avenger traveling northbound on Old US 31 collided with it, causing both vehicles to come to rest.
Quinton was pronounced deceased at the crash scene by emergency medical personnel.
The driver of the Dodge, Kenneth Hendricks, 37, of Plymouth, was transported to an area hospital via medical helicopter for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team members responded to assist with the investigation. At this time, neither the consumption of alcoholic beverages nor narcotics are suspected of contributing to this crash. Notification to the family of the deceased has been made.
The information above is preliminary; the investigation is ongoing, and there is no further information to release at this time.
Master Trooper Trottier was assisted by members of the Indiana State Police Peru Post, Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Rochester Fire, Fulton County EMS, and Low Dollar Towing.
