A Rochester man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after a Plymouth Police Officer discovered he was driving on a suspended license during a traffic stop on North Plum Street.
On October 21, Officer Krynock stopped a vehicle driven by Brandon E. Beattie, 33, at 912 North Plum Street for a traffic infraction. A check of Beattie's driving status revealed his license was suspended due to a prior conviction.
During an inventory of the vehicle's contents before impounding, officers located drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
Beattie was transported and lodged in the Marshall County Jail on charges of driving while suspended with a prior and possession of paraphernalia. Within 90 minutes of being booked, his cash bond was paid, and he was released on bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
