Authorities say that a Lawrence County resident was killed as the result of a three vehicle accident last Thursday in neighboring Richland County.
The Illinois State Police report that fatal mishap occurred on U.S. 50 near the Claremont intersection east of Olney.
A vehicle being driven by 40 year old Jade Holmes of Sumner was headed west when for some unknown reason, it veered across center and sideswiped an eastbound semi and then struck another eastbound semi head-on.
Holmes was pronounced dead at the scene.
The two semi-drivers-one from West Frankfort, Illinois and the other from Huntingburg, Indiana were not seriously injured.
No citations were issued after completion of the accident investigation
