A ribbon cutting was held to celebrate the new ownership of Addie’s Dog Grooming on Friday, March 15th. Former owner James Dee Holderread tearfully and thankfully passed the grooming shears over to Mary Kapke.
Kapke was joined in celebration by her husband Bryan, her son Aiden, and her parents Steve and Regina Davenport. Family, friends, former customers and new customers gathered at the shop located on 881 Lincolnway East to share memories from the past and hopes for the future.
Holderread was joined by his wife Sandy and daughters Michelle Gladura and Melissa Waldron.
City of Plymouth Mayor Robert Listenberger said, “Today is another win for Plymouth.” He shared that the Holderread family has done a wonderful job during their 28 years of service.
Holderread said that Kapke was an answer to his prayer to God to send him the right person to carry on the business which was more than a profession but a blessing to the family and a relationship with the community.
Mayor Listenberger welcomed Kapke on behalf of the City of Plymouth, the Plymouth Common Council, his own beloved canine Walter and all the furry friends around Plymouth. “We congratulate you and wish you the very best and all the success in the future.”
Kapke expressed gratitude for the opportunity describing Holderread as a blessing the entire time she has known him.
Kapke will be serving current clients and is taking in new clients. Call 574-248-2551 to book an appointment. Follow Kapke on Facebook @ Addie’s Grooming.
