Today, Congressman Jim Baird (IN-04) released the following statement after certifying the electors for the 2024 Presidential Election:
“As the representative for Indiana’s Fourth Congressional District and as an Army combat veteran, I took an oath to support and defend the Constitution, and I do not take this oath lightly. Today, I was proud to uphold my Constitutional duty and certify the electors for the 2024 Presidential Election as laid out in Article II, Section I of the Constitution. On November 5, 2024, the American people made their voices heard and elected Donald J. Trump as the next President of the United States. I congratulate President Trump on his historic victory, and I look forward to his inauguration on January 20, 2025, when he can get to work on the issues important to our country and restore America to a position of strength and prosperity.”
