Firefighters, police, medics, dispatchers, other first responders and more are invited to a training exercise on communications at 6 p.m. Dec. 11 at the Grass Creek Fire Station, 7314 S. State Road 17, Kewanna.
First responders are encouraged to bring their radios for an upcoming training exercise sponsored by the Fulton County Local Emergency Planning Council.
The training begins at 6 p.m. Dec. 11 at the Grass Creek Fire Station, 7314 S. State Road 17, Kewanna. Elected and appointed officials, as well as city and county stakeholders, are encouraged to attend – in addition to personnel of fire and mutual-aid departments, law enforcement agencies, emergency medical services, emergency management, dispatch, the highway department and health department.
The hands-on training will provide the opportunity to network and evaluate current communication response procedures, the incident command communication structure and mutual-aid communications. Food will be provided.
Those planning to attend who carry a portable radio are encourage to bring it as the county's cache of radios is limited. There will be handouts and templates.
Organizers say invites may be extended to agencies of surrounding counties providing mutual aid.
To RSVP, contact Fulton County Emergency Management Agency Director Dawn Sewell (574-835-0191, ema@co.fulton.in.us) or Anna Hendrickson (574-721-6298, annah42@live.com).
