TERRE HAUTE, Indiana (DLC Media) - A school officer was fired after they left their weapon unattended at Honey Creek Middle School yesterday. A memo was sent out to parents informing them of the incident to explain how a protection officer at school had left their gun and holster in the bathrooms._x000D_ _x000D_ Fortunately for the middle school and those in the school, the gun was found by a student who immediately reported the gun to the front office. The protection officer was fired soon after the incident occurred. It is unclear whether or not the gun was loaded.
