An 18-year-old Plymouth man was arrested Saturday evening after a police officer spotted him driving without a valid license, according to the Police Report.
Yecnuar Hernandez-Zelaya of West Lake Avenue was taken into custody shortly after 5 p.m. on February 21 and charged with operator never licensed.
According to Corporal Schieber’s report, he was traveling on Jefferson Street when he observed Hernandez-Zelaya driving. The officer recognized both the driver and vehicle from a previous pursuit involving the same individual.
The officer said Hernandez-Zelaya was seen turning south onto Fifth Street, and he turned around and began traveling west on Adams Street. He observed the suspect vehicle pulling up and stopping outside a residence west of Fifth Street.
Hernandez-Zelaya reportedly attempted to walk away from the vehicle but complied with the officer's command to return to the vehicle. He was then taken into custody without further incident.
The suspect was booked into the Marshall County Jail and bonded out approximately two and a half hours later.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made
