The Plymouth Redevelopment Commission meets tonight at 5:30 p.m. in the second-floor Council Chambers at City Hall, and the agenda includes what Mayor Robert Listenberger describes as the full picture of an ambitious plan taking shape at the Plymouth Municipal Airport.
Regional innovation firm enFocus will present an update on the Airport Expansion & Readiness (AER) Plan, covering the Malory Aircraft Project, the Alpha Flight Training School, and the broader vision for Plymouth's airport as a hub for aviation activity.
"You will get the big picture of the whole thing," Mayor Listenberger said.
The Mayor explained that serious work on the project began in January, and that Malory has already committed to a presence at the Plymouth Airport — whether through flight training, manufacturing of its new aircraft, or both. Listenberger added that Plymouth is actively being considered as the site for the new manufacturing facility that would be located adjacent to the airport, a development that could have significant economic implications for the community.
enFocus, based in the South Bend-Elkhart region, is known for driving innovation and entrepreneurship by incubating and implementing new ideas, and has played a key role in shaping the airport's expansion strategy.
Tonight's Plymouth Redevelopment Commission meeting is open to the public and will be streamed live on the City of Plymouth's YouTube channel.
