Plymouth Park Dept. & Park Board consider major renovation project for Centennial Park pool

The Plymouth Park Department and Park Board are considering a major renovation project for the pool in Centennial Park. The current pool is 50 years old and has issues. While the Park Department has completed routine maintenance over the decades, nothing lasts forever.

The park is working with the Troyer Group to look at options in determining what a new pool and or water park could include. Troyer has helped to create a survey for the public to let them know what they would like to see. The survey is live and ready for public input.

The survey asked if you live in Plymouth or outside the city limits, but everyone is welcome to participate. You will be asked for your age, how you use the pool, how often you use the pool, and concerns you have about the current pool. The survey will have you rate the various options, including a zero-depth entry pool, a traditional lap-style pool, a shallow pool with splash equipment, or a splash pad without standing water that does not require lifeguards.

The Troyer Group listed several amenities that could be added and asks participants to pick their four favorites. Those amenities are splash equipment, diving board, pool rock wall, a smaller or larger slide structure, water obstacle course, pool zipline, shade sails for pool seating, basketball hoop, beach ball play dome, toddler play zone, or lazy river.
