The Marshall County Sheriff's Department has arrested a 33-year-old Plymouth man on felony child neglect charges following an investigation into injuries sustained by a 3-year-old girl.
Kevin Corona was taken into custody on Wednesday after an arrest warrant was issued by the Marshall County Prosecutor's Office.
The Marshall County Sheriff's Department and the Division of Child Services initiated an investigation after receiving information about a young child who sustained an injury to her face. Authorities determined the injury appeared to be non-accidental and inconsistent with the explanations provided.
Following a thorough investigation led by Lt. Detective Les McFarland, a case report was completed and presented to the Marshall County Prosecutor's Office for review.
Corona was arrested and charged with Neglect of a Dependent Resulting in Bodily Injury, a Level 5 felony. He was booked into the Marshall County Jail with a bond set at $10,000 cash.
The investigation involved coordination between multiple agencies:
- Marshall County Sheriff's Department
- Division of Child Services and the
- Marshall County Prosecutor's Office
The investigation remains ongoing.
