A 25-year-old Plymouth man was arrested Saturday morning after allegedly breaking into two residences, one in the city and one in the county.
At approximately 6:32 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, Plymouth Police units were dispatched to a Poplar Street address after a female caller reported to 911 that a male subject had broken into her home. Officers arrived and searched the residence but were unable to locate the suspect. However, the female caller was able to provide officers with a possible name for the suspect.
While officers were still at the Poplar Street residence, Marshall County 911 received another report of a residential entry on Kings Court, located just south of the Poplar Street address but within Marshall County jurisdiction.
Marshall County Sheriff's Deputies and Plymouth Police officers responded to the Kings Court address and located the suspect inside a vehicle in the garage at that residence. The male was identified as Raudel Martinez-Huizar, 25, of Plymouth, and was confirmed to be the same suspect from the Poplar Street break-in.
Martinez-Huizar was arrested and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where he was booked on two counts of residential entry and trespass into a vehicle.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
