Plymouth’s emergency responders were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident at U.S. 30 and Oak Drive during the early morning of September 22nd, and one of the drivers was arrested.
At approximately 1:40 A.M., Sunday, Plymouth Police, Fire, and EMS were dispatched to a personal injury crash involving a passenger car and a semi.
31-year-old Jairo Murillo was driving the passenger car and told Plymouth Police he was from Illinois, but when he was booked into the Marshall County Jail, his address was East Street in Plymouth.
Murillo had disregarded the stoplight and collided with a semi-trailer traveling eastbound on U.S. 30.
Murillo was transported to the Plymouth Hospital for minor injuries. It was discovered that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. A certified chemical test was performed and revealed Murillo's blood alcohol content level was over twice the legal limit. After being cleared by medical professionals, he was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a BAC of .15 or higher, and operator never licensed.
