On Monday at 5:45 a.m., Plymouth Police were dispatched to 611 East Laporte Street for a domestic battery incident. The caller reported that Ricardo Luva had physically assaulted his wife, then took their 5-year-old child in a vehicle and headed toward Argos.
It was reported that Luva had been drinking and was intoxicated.
Officer Fase investigated the scene, and Luva's vehicle was located with the assistance of the Argos Police Department and the deputies with the Marshall County Sheriff's Department.
The juvenile was recovered and returned to the home on East LaPorte Street.
Ricardo Luva, age 32, was taken into custody, transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, operating a vehicle while intoxicated - endangering a person less than 18 years, domestic battery in the presence of a child, domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, and interfering with the reporting of a crime.

They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
