At Plymouth High School, learning extends far beyond the classroom. PHS welcomed about 250 guests to its annual Fall Party, an event that celebrates inclusion, strengthens community connections, and showcases the impact of students putting their learning into action.
PHS Applied Skills Teacher Tammie Radican organizes and hosts the Fall Party annually, bringing together students and adult day program participants from across the region for an afternoon of friendship, fun, and meaningful connections. What began as an opportunity to bring neighboring schools and programs together has become a valued tradition that reflects the welcoming, student-centered culture at Plymouth High School.
This year’s celebration featured dancing, games, crafts, food, drinks, and a s’mores table, along with plenty of Halloween spirit. Guests were encouraged to wear costumes and join in the festivities, creating an afternoon filled with laughter, new connections, and memorable experiences.
At the heart of the event were the Plymouth High School students who helped bring it to life. Twenty members of the PHS Sunshine Club, alongside the school’s peer tutors, volunteered their time to prepare for the event, serve food and drinks, assist with cleanup and, most importantly, spend time with guests. From dancing and playing games to sharing conversations and laughter, students helped create an environment where everyone felt welcomed and included.
The event welcomed participants from LaVille High School, Tippecanoe Valley High School, Argos High School, Culver Community Schools, Knox Community Schools, Bremen Public Schools, Rochester Community Schools, Lincoln Junior High School, Marshall-Starke Development Center, Manitou Training Center, and Pathfinders, alongside Plymouth High School students and staff.
The annual celebration is funded through donations, making community support an essential part of continuing this tradition and providing guests with a memorable experience each year.
Plymouth Community School Corporation is proud of the students, staff, and volunteers who make events like the Fall Party possible. At Plymouth High School, opportunities to learn, lead, serve, and build meaningful relationships are an important part of the student experience, demonstrating that being a Rockie/Pilgrim means more than what happens in the classroom.
