The Plymouth Volunteer Fire Department is throwing a party with a purpose this Saturday, and everyone is invited. Bubba's Birthday Bash, a fundraising event benefiting Plymouth Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt, will be held June 27th from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Columbus Club, 901 East Jefferson Street, located between Martin's Supermarket and Oliver Ford.
Marquardt, known affectionately as "Bubba," received a life-saving liver transplant on May 6th. Friends and colleagues are rallying together to help ease the financial burden of his hospitalization, transplant, and ongoing aftercare costs.
Tickets are $20 per person, with all proceeds going directly to Marquardt's medical fund. That $20 gets attendees a dinner prepared by Bob's Cafeteria, live music from The Usual Suspects, and an evening of fellowship and celebration.

The festivities will also include a live auction featuring larger-ticket items, a silent auction with a variety of offerings, a 50/50 drawing, and additional raffles throughout the night. Special birthday beer cups will be available for $10, and Coca-Cola has donated Coke products and water for the event.
A stunning patriotic quilt, handcrafted by Wendy Holiday, will also be raffled off, with the winning ticket drawn Saturday night. Raffle tickets are available two for $5, and a limited number remain available at Butterfly Boutique or at the GIANT fm WTCA studios at 112 West Washington Street. The quilt can be seen at Butterfly Boutique.
To purchase tickets for Bubba's Birthday Bash, contact Laura Mann at the Plymouth Mayor's Office or at Butterfly Boutique.
