On Monday, July 15th at about 9:30 in the morning, the Plymouth Police Department was dispatched to the area of 1004 Sycamore Street for a suicidal female.
As police arrived on the scene, they were told that the female had left in a vehicle and was believed to be suicidal. The vehicle was located near Oak Drive and Hoham and a traffic stop was initiated. During the traffic stop, the female became combative with officers on the scene. She was eventually detained and transported to the Plymouth Hospital for an evaluation.
29-year-old Megan Nicole Lonie of Plymouth has been preliminary charged with resisting law enforcement, and battery on a law enforcement officer.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
