The City of Plymouth will hold its regular municipal meetings tonight, featuring an agenda that includes a request for an additional police officer and a public hearing on renovations to the Historic Old Firehouse.
The evening will kick off at 6:00 p.m. with the Board of Public Works and Safety. Along with routine reports from various city department heads, Police Chief Weir is scheduled to appear before the board to formally request the addition of a new officer to the department's roster.
Following the Board of Works, the Plymouth Common Council will convene at 6:30 p.m. The council's agenda highlights a presentation on the 2025 Tax Incremental Financing (TIF) Management. Additionally, council members will host two public hearings: one regarding additional city appropriations and another focusing on the proposed exterior renovation project for the Historic Old Firehouse.
In other council business, members will vote to accept donations for the upcoming Mayor’s Summer of Music series and hear the first reading of an ordinance aimed at amending fees for the Aviation Department. The council will also consider a resolution for the additional appropriations and receive updates on the ONE Marshall County initiative and the city’s Comprehensive Plan.
Both meetings are open to the public. Those wishing to attend in person should enter City Hall through the Garro Street doors and proceed to the second floor. For residents unable to attend, the meetings will also be streamed live on the City of Plymouth’s official YouTube channel.
