PHS Alumni in the Park completed their highly successful seventh year, celebrating everyone’s graduating class in River Park Square on Friday night.
Jan Boos Bean, President of the Alumni Association, said there were more class canopies up this year than last year’s event. Garro Street was lined with graduating classes in the 70s, and the 1960s were along the new pavilion.
Mayor Robert Listenberger and Laura Banning Mann, both PHS Alumni and organizers of the Mayor’s Summer of Music, did a great job inviting BLAMMO, a variety band playing the hits we all know and love, along with a wonderful supply of great food trucks.
Members of the newly formed Plymouth Indiana School Alumni Association, Inc., a 501(c)3 were recognized. Members include Boos Beam as President, Jeanne Tanner as Vice President, Jack Garner as Secretary, and Janis Jeffirs Holiday as Treasurer. Additional board members include Robert Listenberger, Laura Mann, Allie Shook, Bryan Howard, Gwen De Mont Calvert, Fred Webster, Maggie Kubley, Debbie Fall, and Anna Corbett.
Instead of selecting an individual distinguished alumnus this year, the board decided to honor the PHS alumni who chose their professions and work in the various buildings of the Plymouth Community School Corporation in a variety of capacities.
The new Plymouth Indiana Alumni Association is accepting donations to award a scholarship to a graduating senior from PHS.
This is also your personal invitation to join the fun next year on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 6:45 p.m. in River Park Square. Bring your family. Walk around the park and visit with so many others. Enjoy the great food from the food trucks and tap your toe, sing, and dance to the fantastic music.
