PHHS announces 2025 valedictorian and salutatorian

Raegan Ramsay and Addison Jenkins have been named valedictorian and salutatorian for the Parke Heritage High School Class of 2025.

The graduation ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 24 at 11:00 a.m.

Raegan, daughter of Scott and Ashli Ramsay of Rockville, plans to attend Purdue University to study genetics on a pre-medical track, a decision inspired by her favorite class, Anatomy and Physiology. This course ignited her interest in the medical field and the complexities of the human body.

During her high school years, Raegan has been involved in many activities. She has been a member of the basketball, volleyball, and track and field teams as well as National Honor Society, FFA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Student Council, Academic Super Bowl, and Interact Club.  Outside of school, Raegan is a 10-year 4-H member.

Her hard work has not gone unnoticed as she has received many academic awards, including the Distinguished Honor Roll. She was named an Indiana Rising Star as a junior. Classroom awards include English, Pre-calculus, Trigonometry, Biology II, Anatomy and Physiology, and AP U.S. History, 

Raegan credits PHHS science teacher Mike Slater as having the most impact on her educational journey. 

“The staff member with the biggest impact on me is Mr. Slater. I have been in one of his classes for the past three years and those classes have been some of these hardest I have taken. Mr. Slater was always there to answer questions and take time to help me if I needed it. It truly made me feel like a teacher really cared about my educational success.” 

Additionally, her parents have provided her steadfast support and guidance, encouraging her to put her heart into everything she does.

Both girls have been an integral part of teams who have earned championship honors. Raegan has received All-Conference honors for basketball twice. She was also recognized as a Top Performer during the 2025 Sectionals by the Indiana Preps Hoops. Both Raegan and Addison have been a part of the girls basketball teams that have won the sectional title twice, regionals once and conference champions in both 2024 and 2025. They were Banks of the Wabash Champions each year during their MS and HS careers. 

Like Raegan, salutatorian Addison Jenkins has been involved in many sports and school activities. Her activities include National Honor Society, Interact Club, Student Council, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes in addition to the girls basketball team. Her out-of-school activities include being a 10-year member of 4-H. She attends the Bridgeton Baptist Church and is a member of the Faithbridge youth group. 

She was named an Indiana Rising Star during her junior year. She has received academic awards for English, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, Biology II, Horticulture, and Advanced Government.

Mrs. Diane Shelton is the staff member who has had the most impact on Addison during her high school career. 

“Mrs. Shelton was my Biology II and study hall teacher. During biology, she helped me understand the material better and made the class fun. During study hall, she is always willing to help me with college questions and give me advice on what I should do. I really appreciate all that she has done for me.” 

The encouragement to "dream big and never give up" from Addison's parents has been a cornerstone of her motivation, driving her to pursue her goals with determination.

The daughter of Chadd and Kellie Jenkins of Rockville, Addison plans to attend Indiana State University and major in business with hopes of going into the law field.
