Classes are free, in person and open to all who are interested. Classrooms in Rockville, Clinton, Eugene and both Parke and Vermillion County jails
Anyone interested in earning their High School Equivalency diploma – GED – can attend an Orientation Open House for new students on Monday, August 12 from 6-9 pm at the Rockville office and classrooms at 519 N Lincoln, which is on US 41 across from Casey’s.
All area residents interested in learning more about Job Certification classes are encouraged to attend an Orientation specifically meant for new CCMA(Certified Clinical Medical Assistant), CNA(Certified Nursing Assistant), CDA (Child Development Associate), Welding, ASE Brake, CDL A/B on Wednesday, August 14th from 6-9 pm.
At the GED Orientation meeting, new students will have the opportunity to meet with instructors, determine best classroom locations and times, find out if they qualify for FAST TRACK (which allows for two weeks on class time before GED testing starts), see if previous test results for HiSET or GED will still count toward earning a Total Transcript diploma (which means no need to repeat those tests).
At the Job Certification Orientation meeting, interested residents can meet with instructors, determine their eligibility for the classes, enroll, discuss how they can take the classes with little or no fees, and start the instruction process that night. Since many of these classes are close to full already, pre-registering on ParkeVermillionAdultEd.org, will improve likelihood of obtaining a spot in the preferred class.
All new students – GED or Job Certification – should bring a copy of their driver’s license or state ID and their Social Security card. In addition, any potential GED student under the age of 18 will need a completed exit form from the school they previously attended.
Parke Vermillion Adult Ed has classrooms in Rockville, Clinton, Eugene and both Parke and Vermillion County jails. Later this fall, a classroom in Bellmore is also expected to open.
Classes are free, in person and open to all who are interested, even if they live in another county or are out of state. For more information, please visit ParkeVermillionAdultEd.org or call 765-731-1350.
