Think you have a great idea for a new business? Or do you already have a great small business, but are interested in ways to grow it?
Parke Vermillion Adult Ed is launching a new Small Business Foundations Class this Spring. The course is free to area adult residents and is a combination of both on site and remote learning.
Required on-site instruction will be limited to six sessions on Mondays from 5:30 – 8:30. The remainder of the course will be completed through virtual instruction or may be completed on-site depending on student preference.
While much of the coursework will be standard for all students, personalized instruction in Entrepreneurship or in Small Business Growth will be included.
The course covers key topics including business strategy, funding options, legal and ethical considerations, team building, risk management, and digital tools for startups or existing businesses.
Students will also develop skills in pitching business ideas, fostering sustainability, and networking. Basic foundational skills in Canva and QuickBooks will also be covered.
Throughout the 8-week course, students will have the opportunity to earn certifications from NorthStar Digital Literacy, WIN Essential Soft Skills, My Own Business Institute, and will take the PITSCO U.S. Entrepreneurship Certification.
Students will also have access to resources from the Indiana Small Business Development Center.
Anyone interested should reach out quickly to Parke Vermillion Adult Ed as this initial class is limited to 12 students and will start the week of March 31. To register for the class, visit ParkeVermillionAdultEd.org or call 765-731-1350 for more information.
