Officers with the Plymouth Police Department arrested two people early Tuesday morning after the call of a reported theft.
On August 13, in the three o’clock hour, city officers responded to Gilmore Street for the report of a theft.
While officers were investigating the theft they were made aware of a battery that had also occurred. Twenty-two-year-old Shaylynne Paguada of Plymouth was identified as the suspect. Plymouth Police took Paguada into custody and transported her to the Marshall County Jail for Theft and Battery.
While conducting a separate investigation, a Marshall County Officer came across 20-year-old Fernando Ramirez of Plymouth. Ramirez matched the description of a suspicious person and repeatedly interfered with the officer’s investigation.
Ramirez was known to be in a relationship with Paguada, who was located in the 300 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue. Marshall County Police took Ramerez into custody and transported him to the Marshall County Jail. He was booked in for obstruction of justice.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
