An out of state man was given a rude awakening when he was arrested in Plymouth. Around 9:45 pm on June 20th, Plymouth Police Officer Vinson conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle.
The vehicle was being operated with no lights on at night, as it also was crossing the center line on Michigan Street, South of Skylane Drive.
When officers pulled the vehicle over, the driver was found to be Joshua Rodriguez Monzon. Monzon, a 27-year-old man from Orlando, Florida, was found to have never received a driver's license. Monzon was then taken into custody by the police and transported to the Marshall County Jail.
The 27-year-old Orlando man was charged with Operator Never Licensed and was officially booked into the jail just before 10:30 pm. This is a new charge for Monzon, who was released from jail at 12:14 am on Friday the 21st after his bond was paid.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
