A Sunday afternoon accident resulted in the closure of a state road and the death of one person in Coatesville.
According to the Hendricks County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to an accident at the intersection of State Road 75 and Vontress Street in Coatesville. Upon arrival, deputies located a maroon GMC Envoy and a blue Ford F-150. An investigation determined the driver of the Envoy, who was traveling southbound, crossed the centerline into the northbound lanes of State Road 75, striking the Ford truck head on.
The driver of the Envoy was transported to Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis, where she died. The driver of the F-150 was also transported to Eskenazi Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The name of the deceased and the other driver have not been made public by the Hendricks County Sheriff's Office, as they were working to properly notify the family of the death.
State Road 75 was closed for four hours as a result of the accident.
