Marshall County Police arrested an Ohio woman on Monday, July 15th on charges of forgery, marijuana, and reckless driving.
Just before 7 p.m., Officer Nick Laffoon observed a blue passenger car traveling east on U.S. 30 at a very high rate of speed. The vehicle was clocked at 103 mph. The officer pursued the vehicle, and a traffic stop occurred on U.S. 30 near Elm Road.
During the traffic stop Meredith E. Walsh, 19, from Plain City, OH was identified as the driver and only occupant of the vehicle. A small amount of suspected marijuana and a fraudulent identification were located.
Walsh was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked in with charges of forgery-possess false government ID a class A misdemeanor possession of marijuana a class B misdemeanor and reckless Driving a class C misdemeanor. She was held on a $500 cash bond.
The Bourbon Police Department assisted at the scene of the traffic stop.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
