With a close eye on the future, North Vermillion Superintendent Brian Byrum is waiting to see what happens for his district with any potential fallout from Senate Bill 1.
Senate Bill 1 will lower property taxes for Indiana homeowners when it becomes law on July 1.
And, Byrum, like many superintendents around the Hoosier State is waiting to see what impact the property tax cuts could have on his district.
"We are always looking at efficient ways to operate. We are currently looking at all areas in attempts to absorb some of the potential impacts," Byrum told The Parke County Post.
Will North Vermillion have to cut any staff or programs?
Byrum hopes that is not the case.
"We have no plans to cut teaching staff and programs at this time. We are looking at all of our operations and systems to maximize efficiency and cost moving forward," Byrum said.
