Nominations are open for the Lieutenant Governor’s 2026 Golden Hoosier Award, the state's highest honor recognizing senior citizens for their lifetime of volunteer service to their communities.
The award, presented in partnership with the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration and AARP Indiana, is open to current Indiana residents age 65 and older who have volunteered in their communities for the past three years or more.
The nomination form can be found here. It should include the nominator's contact information, the nominee's details and a summary describing the nominee's service and impact.

Award recipients will be honored at a special ceremony at the Indiana Statehouse on September 2, 2026. The deadline to submit nominations is July 15. For questions about the Golden Hoosier Award, please email GoldenHoosiers@fssa.in.gov or visit the Lieutenant Governor’s website.
