102nd District Republican State Representative Adam Niemerg recently took a guided tour of the Lawrenceville City Sewage treatment plant. The tour came after his office received notification from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) about deficiencies at the facility.
Neimerg indicated that he has reviewed the EPA report and spoken with both them and the city of Lawrenceville about the issues requiring attention; including repairs to the bulk and press system. The issues are now being addressed under an action plan implemented under the supervision of the EPA as per operational guidelines.
Neimerg will continue to offer his assistance in the matter and will monitor the progress being made with the IEPA and the city of Lawrenceville to ensure compliance.
