Plymouth High School is thrilled to announce hiring Ashley (Harrell) Koss as the new Head Volleyball Coach. A graduate of Plymouth High School, Koss is a committed and enthusiastic volleyball leader who brings a wealth of playing experience and coaching expertise to the program.
After graduating from Plymouth High School in 2017, Koss continued to enhance her skills both academically and athletically. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Taylor University and a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Indiana University.
At Plymouth, Koss excelled in multiple sports, earning varsity letters in volleyball, basketball, and tennis over four years (2013-2017). Additionally, she competed for the Taylor University volleyball program from 2017 to 2021, further contributing to the experience she brings to this new position.
In terms of coaching, Koss has made significant contributions to volleyball programs at both the club and collegiate levels. From 2017 to 2021, she coached the Momentum Volleyball Club, mentoring athletes of various age groups, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Her leadership was also evident as the Head Spring Coach for the Taylor University Men’s Club Volleyball Team in 2021, where she emphasized individual growth and team cohesion.
Most recently, Koss volunteered as a coach for Plymouth High School's summer program in 2023.
I am honored to return to my roots and take on this incredible responsibility," said Koss. "As an alumnus of Plymouth High School, I am deeply invested in the success of the volleyball program, and I’m excited to work with these student-athletes to help them grow both on and off the court. My goal is not just to develop exceptional athletes but also confident individuals who will carry the lessons learned in volleyball into all aspects of their lives."
Focusing on fostering a love for the game and developing teamwork, Coach Koss is dedicated to creating a competitive and positive environment for the Plymouth Volleyball program. Her experience, commitment, and passion for volleyball promise an exciting new chapter for the team.
