Dollar General officials have announced they will hold a community grand opening this weekend at their new St Francisville location. The new DG Market is now open and is located at 12164 Sand Barrens Lane near Illinois Route 1 west of the city. The new location features an expanded collection of fresh meats, fruits and vegetables as well as the same brands of products traditionally sold at Dollar General stores. To celebrate, the company will host an official grand opening ceremony Saturday August 31st at 8 a.m. There will be $10 complimentary gift cards given to the first 50 adult customers and DG tote bags to the first 100 customers. Also to commemorate the occasion, Dollar General will donate 100 new books to a local elementary school to benefit students from kindergarten to fifth grade. The new store is expected to provide economic opportunities with the creation of between 10-15 jobs at the location and provide residents increased accessibilty to affordable goods and products.
