Solar United Neighbors (SUN) of Indiana today launched its "Ready, Set, Solar!" program, a comprehensive resource designed to guide Indiana residents through the process of going solar.
“With solar panel prices continuing to drop and various solar incentives available, there’s no time like the present to go solar. The Indiana 'Ready, Set, Solar!' program will ensure that participants are well-informed and prepared to take advantage of these opportunities,” said Christopher Norrick, Indiana Program Associate with SUN.
Once participants sign up for the "Ready, Set, Solar!" program, they will receive regular emails from the nonprofit SUN with actionable steps to make the journey to solar energy simple and manageable. These bite-sized actions will allow them to choose the best solar company for their needs and gradually build up to the final step of installing solar panels, enabling homeowners to generate their own clean, home-grown electricity.
"Going solar was a great decision," said Ben Davis of Lafayette. "My electric bills have gone down, and I feel good knowing that I'm generating my own power and putting just a little less carbon into the atmosphere. Best of all, I didn't have to do it alone - the folks at Solar United Neighbors were able to answer questions and guide me throughout the process. Having a community of support made going solar much easier."
The Indiana "Ready, Set, Solar!" program will provide personalized support, allowing participants to have their questions answered and receive tailored advice by simply replying to the program’s emails. The dedicated Indiana team at SUN will be available to assist every step of the way, ensuring a smooth and confident transition to solar energy.
To date, SUN has helped more than 285 Hoosier families go solar by supporting them through localized solar co-ops. That equates to about $11.5 million in lifetime energy savings and 54,000+ metric tons of reduction in lifetime carbon emissions. This new program builds on their work by bringing their expertise statewide to anyone who needs it, regardless of their location.
