On May 17, thousands of Americans will travel to Washington, D.C., to participate in a national rededication of the United States as one nation under God.
This event coincides with the 250th anniversary of America’s founding.
For those who are unable to make the journey, churches in the Cloverdale community have come together to offer a local opportunity to participate in this meaningful and historic occasion.
At 2:00 p.m. on May 17, the Cloverdale Middle School gym will open its doors to the public for a community-wide gathering focused on prayer, praise, and thanksgiving for our nation. The event will begin with the Cloverdale American Legion presenting the colors, playing Taps, offering a twenty-one-gun salute, and recognizing veterans in attendance. A collection container will also be available for the respectful retirement of worn American flags.
Following the opening ceremony, local pastors will lead prayers for the community, the state, the nation, the world, schools, the persecuted, and all those in attendance. Each prayer will be followed by the singing of familiar patriotic songs.
This promises to be a meaningful and memorable day. Participating churches warmly invite the entire community to attend. The event is expected to conclude around 4:00 p.m.
