Sturgell had this to say: I absolutely love Halloween and everything that surrounds it, and I strongly associate the time of year with the library. When I think of the library, I think of Goosebumps and other creepy books, like, the first book I ever checked out from the library was The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, so maybe that is the root of my association between the two. I’m happy that I could represent my love for Halloween and the library together in one drawing! Seeing my artwork on a shirt is also really cool; it’s not something I ever imagined doing, and knowing that there are other people who like my drawing enough to wear it is incredibly flattering. I look forward to the Haunted Library event, and the strange happy/proud feeling I’ll get when I see this drawing walking around my hometown!
