Emergency responders were dispatched to the intersection of U.S. 30 and Pioneer Drive on Monday afternoon, August 26th, where two people were injured.
At approximately 3:15, Plymouth Police, Marshall County Police, and Plymouth Fire responded to the intersection for a semi-tractor trailer versus a car accident with unknown injuries.
Officer Wozniak with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department investigated the accident and spoke with witnesses. He determined that the Honda passenger heading west on U.S. 30 failed to stop at the red light, struck a semi-tractor-trailer eastbound, and turned north onto Pioneer Drive.
The driver of the Honda who failed to stop at the light was James A. Sapp, 39, of Plymouth. He received minor abrasions to his face and head in the accident.
The driver of the 2022 semi-tractor trailer was Arthur E. Jones, 52, of Pine Apple, Alabama, who complained of pain in his back. They were both transported by Plymouth EMS to St. Joseph Hospital in Plymouth.
Marshall County Police were assisted at the scene by Plymouth Police, Plymouth Fire, and Reichert Knepp Towing.
