There is still time to honor your veteran by purchasing a Shelby County Salutes military banner that will hang on the lightposts in and around downtown Shelbyville.
A limited number of display spaces are available. Orders must be received by July 1 and are being filled on a first come/first served basis.
Banners are $125 each, and will be displayed from Labor Day 2026 through Veterans Day 2026. They will then be returned to the purchaser with the option to re-hang the banner next year for a $50 charge. Following is a QR code that will take you to the on-line order form or email a request to paula.kaster.@yahoo.com.
The Military Banner Program is sponsored by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) in partnership with the City of Shelbyville and Shelby County Tourism & Visitor Bureau. Once your order request is placed, Paula Kaster with DAR will contact you for confirmation and will make arrangements to collect a high-resolution photo of your veteran along with payment.
Proceeds from this program will assist in providing local events for Shelby County veterans.
Please direct questions to Kaster, 317-512-0134 or by email to paula.kaster.@yahoo.com.
