Senator and Governor-elect Mike Braun gave his farewell speech Wednesday on the Senate floor.
“I’ve lived the American dream, and I want more Hoosiers to have that opportunity. Touring all 92 counties every year, I’ve met so many Hoosiers and heard their challenges and their victories large and small. It’s a truly incredible state filled with the most goodhearted, hardworking people in the world. It was my honor to serve them here in this body, and I can’t wait to continue the adventure back home again in Indiana as your next Governor.” – Mike Braun
Indiana’s senior Senator, Senator Todd Young, wished Senator Braun well in his next endeavor as Governor.
“Mike, I have to say - the Senate’s loss is Indiana’s gain. You have certainly served with distinction here, but I know you’ve always prided yourself - appropriately so - on your executive responsibilities and achievements over the years, and now the people of Indiana will benefit from a different type of service and we’re all very much looking forward to seeing what is next. It’s already started, I know.” – Senator Todd Young
Senator Braun’s close ally in the Senate, Senator Rick Scott of Florida, also spoke about Braun’s time in the Senate serving Hoosiers:
“I’m very appreciative of Mike’s friendship, I’m very appreciative of their hard work. I appreciate his tenacity: I can tell you they’re always going to live within their means because Mike will not waste a dime.” – Senator Rick Scott
