On Thursday, July 17, at approximately 9:20 p.m., Plymouth Police were dispatched to the area of 1275 Baker.
Street, Riverside Commons for a male subject that possibly had felony warrants through St. Joseph County.
When Officer Lovely arrived on the scene, he encountered two males who matched the description given. When the officer asked for identification, one male willingly provided his information. The other male, later identified as Henry Edwards, 44, of Michigan City, was reluctant to provide his information. He eventually provided the name of Leon Edwards and a date of birth. When that name was checked through NCIC, it returned not on file.
The officer then provided a photo of the suspect that matched the male who provided the false name.
Henry Edwards was detained and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where he was lodged for false informing as a Class A Misdemeanor and for the felony warrants through St. Joseph County. He was held on a $500 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed, and there is only probable cause to believe that a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
