Donnie Davidson, the City of Plymouth’s Utility Superintendent, told members of the Board of Public Works and Safety that Greg Hildebrand from the Marshall County Economic Development Commission (MCEDC) made him aware of a Site Readiness Grant offered through the Wabash Valley Power Alliance, which locally is Marshall County REMC.
Davidson said that working with Hildebrand, they developed a potential scope to serve some developing areas along Pioneer Drive and Lincoln Highway. The quote for the work was $14,000, and they submitted the grant application. MCEDC received notice that a grant of $10,000 was awarded for the project.
Davidson asked the Board of Public Works and Safety for approval to use $2,000 from the city water department and $2,000 from the city’s wastewater department to cover the remaining cost for the engineering study.
Hildebrand told WTCA that Midwestern Engineering will do this study and should start soon, as the final paperwork was recently submitted. The scope involves developing water and sewer access along Pioneer Drive, south of Jim Neu Drive, and Lincoln Highway.
