Tuesday afternoon Mayor Robert Listenberger welcomed those gathered for the groundbreaking of the Water Street Townhouse project at the northwest corner of Water and Garro Streets.
The mayor said, “I am proud to join everyone today as we begin constructing a project that will most certainly be another win for Plymouth.” He also thanked developer Kevin Berger, and Easterday Construction, for bringing the project forward saying, “Our community so desperately needs this project. Housing, as we have studied all year long, during my first year as mayor, is on a full-court press.”
This townhouse project represents a collaborative effort between public and private entities and helps fill part of the housing gap in Plymouth and Marshall County. Mayor Listenberger said, “We all know, towns, cities, counties and most states in our nation are racing to fill the gap of housing shortages. This project is a testament to our commitment to housing and community development.”
Mayor Listenberger thanked the city council members, community partners, members of the Redevelopment Commission, and all those contributing to this project.
