Marshall County- Master Trooper Detective Steve Nash is set to retire from the Indiana State Police after serving the citizens of Indiana for more than 29 years.
Nash is a native of Bay City, MI and a graduate of Valley Lutheran High School. After high school he attended Grand Valley State University graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice.
Nash attended the 54th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy that graduated in December of 1996. He was assigned to the Toll Road Post where he spent time working zones three and four which cover St. Joseph, Elkhart, LaGrange, and Steuben counties. In 1997 Nash transferred to the Bremen District where he worked in Elkhart County.
In June of 2000, he was promoted to be a district detective at the Bremen District. He honed his detective skills and went to be a detective in the Organized Crime and Corruption Unit in July 2006. He remained in this role investigating many detailed and intricate cases of fraud and deception for the remainder of his career.
During his tenure with the Indiana State Police, Nash has served as a field training officer (FTO), Background Investigator, and served on the Tactical Intervention Platoon (TIP), and been on the Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) Team as well as the Clandestine Lab Team that investigates methamphetamine labs.
Nash lives in St. Joseph County.
