Marshall County Sheriff's Department deputies made three traffic-related arrests over the course of Friday and Saturday evening, July 10th and 11th, with incidents ranging from unlicensed driving to drug possession and operating while intoxicated.
At approximately 9:08 p.m. Friday, Deputy Truty initiated a traffic stop on U.S. 31 near 14th Road for a registration violation. The driver, 53-year-old Shawn A. Prince, of Rochester, was found to have never received a driver's license. He was transported to the Marshall County Jail and issued a cash bond of $100.

The following evening at approximately 6:41 p.m., a Marshall County officer stopped a vehicle on U.S. 31 near Kenilworth Road for a moving violation. The driver, Wisman Denilson Cano-Lagos, 21, of South Bend, was also found to have never received a driver's license. He was transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on a $100 cash bond. The Argos Police Department assisted at the scene.

Later Saturday night at approximately 9:21 p.m., Deputy Prater conducted a traffic stop for a moving violation on U.S. 31 at the intersection of 16th Road. The driver, Brandon P. Boston, 28, of Jacksonville, FL, was found to have both marijuana and cocaine and was showing signs of impairment. Boston was transported to the Marshall County Jail and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated with endangerment, operating a vehicle with a controlled substance in the body, possession of marijuana, and possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug. He was held on a cash bond of $1,500.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
